Gridlock Genius
GAME JAM: VimJam4
FEATURE: Checkpoints // THEME: Cross Paths // DIVERSIFIER: Two Buttons (or less)
---
BUGS:
- Sometimes, when going back to the title screen after finishing a round, the cars will stop spawning. I don't know what's causing this, nor how to fix it. The game has to be closed and reopened (or the page refreshed)
- The HTML5 version hangs when submitting scores to the leaderboard. It will eventually submit, but I don't know what's causing the delay.
- The HTML5 version doesn't automatically go back to the title screen after score submission, but the 'Back to Title' button works

DISCLAIMER: This is my first Jam game, and only my second "complete" game outside of tutorials. I'm not a very experienced game developer, nor am I very creative (except in rare circumstances), so please set your expectations. I learned a lot during the development of this game though, and I couldn't be happier.
INFO
Gridlock Genius is an endless, high-score traffic management game with a built-in checkpoint system and an online leaderboard. Get the most vehicles through the intersection safely, in the shortest time, without causing any crashes.
These drivers suck - they don't indicate where they're going. It's up to you to judge (or guess) when it's safe to send another vehicle.
IF you cause a crash, the game's not over! You can load your point total from the most recent checkpoint, but the timer keeps going and your multiplier will reset. (Yes, I know this is a weak implementation of checkpoints. Remember when I said I'm not creative?)
RULES
Once a vehicle comes to a complete stop at the intersection, click it to tell it to proceed. Click cars, get points. That's it!
